I highly recommend it.Flixster Video has shut down its operations in the U.S. has been absolutely solid for me, and allows me to access a ton of foreign content on my appletv (like British stuff). I’ve been running a setup like this for over a year without any problems. You’d need to keep the DNS/VPN service to do that though, as they’ll block you being from Canada. You can flip between t hem easily in the settings on the Apple TV, plus you’d have access to the VUDU app (downloaded from the US App Store) allowing you to watch any of your Ultraviolet content. So on your Apple TV you’d have your Canadian iTunes account, and your US iTunes account. What you’re left with is a Canadian iTunes account, and the US side, which is all the Ultraviolet/Movies Anywhere stuff which also filters through to a US iTunes account (assuming the studios participate in MA). You’ll also have ALL your UV movies, not just the ones that Flixster has. Link everything together through Movies Anywhere so now all your accounts are connected. Then you link your Flixster account to VUDU so all the movies will appear on VUDU as well, but then you also create a US iTunes account, and a Movies Anywhere account. You should sign up for one of the DNS/vpn services (I use ) and create a VUDU account in the US. Since you have some movies that are Flixster, you should have an Ultraviolet account. Yes, AppleTV would be your best bet to watch your digital movies, but here’s a suggestion. Sorry, just came across this old thread and I wanted to provide some advice. Sony UV and Flixster tied for least useful. Also have access to all Google Play movies you own on Youtube.Ĥ. Movies Anywhere (requires using a VPN) and also requires you to create an Apple iTunes USA account.ģ.

Ranking Digital code versions from best to worst:Ģ.
These are about the same quality as Netflix regular streamed movies. Those often have lower bitrates, more compression and as a result look and sound worse than regular blu-ray because they have to be streamed over the internet. Google Play, Flixster, Sony Ultraviolet digital code versions are pretty much useless compared to the physical formats because

I think this is only the 1080p version that Apple allows downloading directly to iPhones or iPads and you have to launch them using the iTunes app. Most 4K UHD blu-rays do HDR10, and sometimes the newer ones also have support for Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ now.įor iTunes digital code movies, you can actually download and save them directly to your PC, iPhone or iPad and view them without using the internet (if you have these devices). Apple 4K TV also supports Dolby Vision whereas

The best form of digital codes to redeem are the iTunes versions because, after you redeem it, Apple 4K TV will upgrade you to the digital 4K Version of the movie for free in most cases.ĭigital movies are streamed through an internet connection.ĤK UHD blu-ray disc movies look better than the apple 4K TV streamed versions for just about every movie I have. Most of them come as a combo with a 4K UHD blu-ray + regular blu-ray + digital code. I said specifically in Canada because I heard in the USA they now have Movies Anywhere, which has basically taken over everything. But I would consider getting an Apple TV if a good sale came along. I only downloaded it so I could redeem all these Digital Copy movies.

I don't have an iPhone or other Apple products, and find iTunes pretty bad on my Windows 10 PC. I have a Chomecast (2nd gen), which I barely use, a Fire TV Stick (Basic Edition)., a Nvidia Shield (which I just got from this year's xmas sales), a Roku 3, and a Roku Premiere. I have HTPC, which I find is ok for watching movies. What is the best way to actually enjoy these movies on my devices? Either casting to my tv or, playing on my phone/tablet. I'm in the middle of going through all my purchased Blu-Rays, and making sure everything with an UltraViolet code or Digital Copy code is redeemed.Įverything I own can either be redeemed on Flixster (UV), iTunes (Digital Copy), or Google Play (a few movies).
